Family fun on Canada Day in Canning, Nova Scotia
It was a fabulous warm, sunny day in Canning made even more awesome with plenty of refreshing pink lemonade, freshly brewed coffee, barbecued hotdogs, and scrumptious fresh baked brownies for the many visitors celebrating Canada Day at Andrea Kelly’s newly renovated Farmhouse Inn B&B at 9757 Main Street! Her B&B just recently underwent an exciting facelift, complete with a brand new sign, and guided tours of her inn were available during this open house event.
Local musician, recording artist, performer, and guitar teacher, Andy Webster was on hand to provide wonderful, upbeat live music and Blomidon Estate Winery generously provided complimentary glasses of their world-class wines to thirsty visitors. Brendon of Mr. B’s Tees was there, too, as was Peter Wilson, Executive Director of Canning’s CAPRE organization.
It was fun for the whole family, with games and activities coordinated and supervised by Bev Roy and some of the wonderful folks from Canning & District Recreation. Who doesn’t love an exciting sack race?

The event was a huge success and many people came by to enjoy the festivities, delicious treats, and the gorgeous Farmhouse Inn grounds on such a beautiful warm, summer holiday.
