Our idyllic scenery, breathtaking greenery, and quietly beautiful spaces bring smiles all year long. Listen to the sound of babbling brooks and rustling leaves! The Bigelow Trail near Northeast Kings Educational Centre is one of Canning’s links to nature. Canning Village loves kids and they’re very welcome here, too. It’s an ideal place to grow up and families thrive in the warm, caring community atmosphere. There are places to play, explore, and just have fun!
Jim Blanchard, a former student at Cornwallis District High School and later a teacher at both Glooscap Elementary and Northeast Kings Educational Centre (NKEC), has kindly agreed to share some mapping work he completed in the area of NKEC High School, Glooscap Elementary School, and the Bigelow Nature Trail. He does a lot of orienteering and felt that the mapping may be of benefit to the Village and users of the area.
The AVOC (Annapolis Valley Orienteering Club) offer events and everyone is invited to participate, no matter your fitness or skill level. Please see http://orienteeringns.ca/ for their event fixture list.
