Update by Lis van Berkel
Dear Library volunteers and supporters,
As the group planning the Canning Library’s May 22 fundraiser, we have decided that realistically we can’t go ahead with the sale given the community spread of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia.
RAIN BARRELS: The rain barrel/composter part of the fundraiser is going ahead: the supplier assures us that the rain barrels will be here. Once we have the delivery date, we will contact everyone who purchased a barrel or composter for a drive-thru style pick-up. Stay tuned.
SPREAD THE WORD: Kudos to everyone who has, over these past few weeks and months, donated and organized books and exerted a LOT of effort to grow and dig up plants for us, and to publicize our event — we are very grateful! We will do our best to make sure the change of plan gets communicated, but please tell your network. We want everyone who supports the Library to know that we intend to have the sale again in September, if we can — thanks, and stay safe & healthy.
Lis van Berkel,
for the Fundraising Committee
