I watched these amazing musical acts in Canning Village, Nova Scotia?
It was hard to believe musical acts of this quality and calibre performing in the fire hall of the tiny Village of Canning. Although it was sadly (and disappointingly) under-attended, it was truly a spectacular, memorable evening of music and fun. Many thanks to Liam Potter, whose gifted and innovative performance rocked-and-rocketed the event to a high-energy start; Samantha Power, with her polished and powerful, sultry, romantic voice and solid musical accompaniment; and the incredibly versatile, musically talented and captivating The Cooper’s Monkeys offering up silky-smooth rich harmonies and unforgettable takes on old and new classics; as well as the incredible effort by Canning’s Fieldwood Heritage Society for making such a fantastic event possible, and with a wonderful cause in gathering funds toward the renovation of the beautiful historic Dickie-Baxter House, the site of what will become Canning-and-Area’s magnificent heritage museum.
If you were there, you’ll likely remember the highlights below, and if not, you really, really missed out! Many thanks to Amy Dukeshire for these awesome photos and videos!
