The Canning Village Commission presents a public information meeting with the Municipality of the County of Kings and Kings 2050 with respect to proposed possible zoning changes on April 9th at the Canning Fire Hall starting at 7 PM. All are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend to give your input into these proposed changes.
Have you heard? The zoning of your property may be changing. The Municipality of Kings has published ‘draft for consultation’ planning policies and zoning maps that guide where and how development takes place. This could spell some serious consequences for many people, especially along the river and other areas deemed “flood zones.”
With the new planning policies and regulations, the zones applied throughout the Municipality could all change. Some proposed changes are minor, such as a simple name change, while others could have a significant impact, such as updated flood risk zoning.
Please make every effort to attend and voice your opinion. The proposed changes are certain to affect many people. Visit www.kings2050.ca to view draft planning documents and zoning.
